Gulf of Mexico - Deepwater
Mariner has been active in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico dating back to 1994, when it drilled its first deepwater well: Mustique. As of December 31, 2007, Mariner held interests in 57 blocks in the Gulf of Mexico deepwater. Our Gulf of Mexico deepwater properties account for 15%, or 123 Bcfe, of our proved reserves as of December 31, 2007. In 2007, net production in the Gulf of Mexico deepwater was 23.3 Bcfe.

Among independent E&P companies, Mariner Energy is one of the largest leaseholders in the Gulf of Mexico.
